Our Slings

My background and research in the fashion industry has driven me to ensure my products will not add further un-necessary production of fabric into the industry, rather give life to existing fabrics headed for landfill.

If elements require new production, we use natural fibres.

Although this method of production can be much more difficult and costly to coordinate than off-shelf purchasing, we stand by this. We hope you see the value in it too.

From un-used fabrics, to RPET microfibre production, to handwoven elements from worldwide artisans, we continue to explore mindful and sustainable production.

Our Siargao Range

The Classic Siargao range was designed as a tribute to our Filipino artisan weavers.

A tradition that dates back to the 13th Century.

This unique weaving is intricate and involves timely techniques.

Due to fast fashion trends, they are now threatened by counterfeit.

We honour, support, and aim to preserve this mind-blowing tradition, and the artisan community.

This range is made from a collection of off-cuts that may have gone to waste.

Sewn together to make patchwork pockets and straps, making every single sling completely unique.

I thank Pio Pio for the collaboration, and allowing me the opportunity to share this incredible tradition in Australia.

Classic Siargao is named after paradise, the surfing capital of the Philippines.

Our Macrame Range

These slings are the OG design - Small Runs / Limited Editions

The slings are made from off-cut & leftover fabric sourced locally from business' you might recognise.

We collaborate with beach umbrella brands, outdoor upholsterer's and more to give life to what would be thrown.

We love working with, and always open to collaborate with any business looking to make money from their scraps - it's a win win!

All these bags are teamed up with hand weaved macrame straps made from 100% Raw cotton fibres.

Our Microfibre Range

What is RPET Fabric?

In short, RPET takes plastic that has already been created, usually plastic bottles, and chops the bottles into tiny flakes. These flakes are then melted to separate the core PET ingredient inside of the bottle.

The fibres are then mixed with 15% Polyamide, a natural fibre that adds softness & water resistance.

Not only is up to 50% less energy used than making PET from scratch, but by using existing bottles already created, it ensures these bottle don’t end up in landfill. It also means we can leave the planet as it is: rather than obtaining the core ingredient via the highly damaging process of crude oil primary extraction, we instead make use of a product in abundance that may otherwise have directly contributed to landfill.

Construction

We don't take shortcuts.

Our slings are manufactured by an industrial sewing machine, using salt water resistant thread, providing durability and longevity to weight, salt water, and sun.

To save money, we could sew these ourselves with our home sewing machines, but we don't.

This is what set's us apart.
